NEW YORK STATE
HAS DESIGNATED THE METROPOLITAN INSTITUTE FOR TRAINING IN
PSYCHOANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY AS AN AUTHORIZED PROVIDER FOR EDUCATION AND
TRAINING
FOR THE NEWLY ESTABLISHED LICENSE IN PSYCHOANALYSIS
MITPP is very pleased to announce that it has been designated by the New York
State Education Department as a provider of the necessary education leading
to a New York State license in Psychoanalysis. Completing MITPP’s new Licensure
Track Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy will enable clinicians who seek
such to qualify for the license in Psychoanalysis.
The New York State licensing law specifies which professions can practice
psychotherapy. The designation “Licensed Psychoanalyst”(LP) is one that allows
clinicians from other disciplines not previously licensed to practice
psychotherapy privately and in other settings. For further information about
Licensure and Practice of the Mental Health Professions in New York State, visit
